About Us
A great product at a great price
Do one thing, do it well — our business philosophy for 49 years and counting. Texas Fairfax is family-owned and operated since 1975. Most of our employees are family, and, for us, quality is a family tradition.
We believe our products won't be beaten at any price, and our prices are among the best in the industry. We encourage you to compare us to the competition.
A track record for reliability
With millions of plugs sold, we've had fewer than 10 reported leaks in over 30 years of business. We think it comes down to 3 simple reasons:
- Only the best brass: We use only top quality brass machined to exact tolerances to ensure a long life and flawless service in the field.
- Time-tested core: Our core manufacturer has over 30 years of experience (NAS1523, SAE, MS, ASTM Certified) with extensive military and aerospace applications. Our core seals immediately and has a long history of leak-free performance at high and low pressure.
- Quality control: For us, quality is a family tradition. Our products are assembled only under the close supervision and quality control of the Caldwell family. We won't risk our reputation or your business to save money on overseas or unskilled labor.
Our track record is proven, and we're confident you'll be satisfied with our plugs. If not, return them within on year for repair or replacement, provided they've been used according to our specifications and show no evidence of abuse.
Let's talk.

Our history
In the late fifties, founder Jerry Caldwell worked for Universal Controls and assembled some of the industry’s first pressure and temperature test plugs.
When Universal Controls closed its doors, Jerry teamed with an engineer and a rubber company to design a revolutionary new core with a pressure seal at the back that allows for a second seal and insures sealing without the need for the core to be pushed tightly against the retainer ring. In 1975, Jerry and wife, Christina, formed Texas Fairfax with a patent on the new, improved core.
